Recipes From Our Pantry: Fried PB and J

Taylor EngleDec 1, 2020

As the temperatures continue to drop and we bust out the woolly blankets and sweaters, we instinctively begin to crave comfort in warm food and dank bud – at least, more than we usually do. Luckily, Eaze has the perfect formula for you to enjoy both at the same time.

Our Pantry Cannabis Creations highlight all of our best infused ingredients, and how you can make them into a meal that is both tasty and terpene-y. And the first recipe on our docket? A playground-classic-turned-cold-weather-favorite: grilled PB&J.

You’ve had a grilled cheese sandwich and you’ve had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but have you ever experienced the unbridled deliciousness of a grilled PB&J? A fancier more “adult” spin on the classic, a grilled PB&J is the perfect quick lunch on a lazy day – and what better way to spice it up than with your favorite plant?

Here are some different ways to enjoy this sweet, savory goodness – but don’t worry, every option includes weed.

Classic Grilled PB&J

Ingredients (serves two):

  • 4 slices of your bread of choice
  • 2-4 packets of cannabis-infused grape jelly (more or less depending on tolerance level/preference)
  • 2-4 packets of cannabis-infused peanut butter (more or less depending on tolerance level/preference)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Steps:

  1. Sprawl out your bread slices and spread the 2Fly peanut butter on two of the slices. Then spread the grape jelly on the remaining two slices and put the two sandwiches together – one peanut butter slice with one jelly slice.
  2. Crack your eggs into a small bowl, season with a dash of salt, and mix until properly scrambled.
  3. Heat a medium-sized skillet over medium heat and melt the butter in the pan, stirring until it has melted throughout.
  4. While you’re waiting for the pan to heat up, dip both sides of each sandwich into the egg mixture until they are thoroughly and evenly coated.
  5. Fry the sandwiches until golden – about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer to a plate, powder lightly with sugar, and enjoy! In about 30 minutes-1 hour, you should be feeling quite relaxed.

Alternative/additional ingredients for a twist on a classic:

  • Cinnamon
  • Banana slices
  • Cereal (for added crunch)
  • Sliced almonds or walnuts (or other nut of choice)
  • Nutella
