The most destructive wildfire outbreak in California history.
It’s impossible to overstate the unprecedented level of devastation brought on by the Camp and Woolsey fires, which swept through different parts of California this month.
The Camp Fire, centered near the Northern California community of Paradise, has claimed nearly 19,000 structures and 85 lives, by far the deadliest and most destructive blaze in the state’s recorded history. The simultaneous Woolsey Fire, near Malibu in Southern California, now with 1,600 structures lost to the flames, ranks eighth all-time in property destruction, and three people have lost their lives.
For the week of Monday, Nov. 26, Eaze is donating 20% of proceeds to Direct Relief, a global, direct-response humanitarian aid organization that’s already actively speeding disaster recovery relief to both sites.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people are still missing, displaced by evacuations or with nowhere to go after their homes were destroyed. Direct Relief is focusing its $2 million effort on helping those people cope and survive, and time is of the essence.
