Summertime done come and gone – my, oh my.

School’s back in, but summer’s lease hath a few waning weeks to go – that overlapping, football-meets-baseball time of year when transition vibes are all around us.

What better time to finally experiment with some new cannabis cocktails? With CBD mixology as hot as ever, and companies like Atlas Edibles and Lagunitas launching innovative THC-based beverages left and right, lifted libations have never been easier to make at home.

We’ve assembled some of our favorite cannabis-infused cocktail recipes to inspire new BBQ traditions as summer gives way to fall. If you’re looking to leave hangovers behind in 2019, stick with the cannabinoid-only offerings. And if you want something with a kick, we’ve got options for you, too.

Enjoy your summer’s end, enjoy trying something new, and as always, enjoy the moment!

Canna-cocktails (no booze):

1. The Lemongrass-Ginger Snap

Atlas Edibles’ drink mix packets contain 5 mg CBD and 2.5 mg THC – perfect for a light uplift, but chilled-out enough that you can probably handle two. This one is all about that juicy citrus, with an acidic kick that might make you forget for a moment that it’s alcohol-free.

1 Atlas Edibles Lemongrass-Ginger packet

1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
Dash of cayenne pepper
Cucumber wheel (for garnish)
2. Humpty Pom-Tea
Fancy salts are all the rage these days – we’re still thinking about that episode of Salt Fat Acid Heat – and any top-shelf sodium you may have picked up after watching the Netflix hit will do for a rim on this perfectly balanced late-summer refresher. But if you can find it, we recommend a matcha- or green tea-salt rim to complement the Atlas packet’s unique flavor profile.

1 Atlas Edibles Pomegranate Green Tea packet (5 mg CBD, 2.5 mg THC)

1 oz fresh lemon juice

1 oz simple syrup

Green tea salt or matcha salt (for rim)

Candied grapefruit peel (for garnish)

Canna-cocktails with a kick (some booze, please drink extra responsibly):

3. Hoppy Americano
This low-abv, low-thc highball is the perfect aperitif to get you ready for a barbeque feast. Loaded with hops and Campari, this drink hits you with grapefruit-like bitterness (IPA lovers rejoice), but it is oh so refreshing. Feeling a little foggy after a Labor Day bash? The Hoppy Americano is also the perfect hair-of-the-dog sipper.

1 oz Campari

1 oz Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth

6 oz (1/2 bottle) Lagunitas HiFi Hops Cannabis-Infused Hoppy Sparkling Water

Lemon Twist

Add Campari and vermouth to a Collins glass. Fill with ice and stir for 10 seconds. Top with chilled HiFi Hops Soda Water and stir gently for 3 seconds to combine. Twist a lemon peel over the drink and discard.

4. Rosin Drop

Atlas’ raspberry-hibiscus drink mixes are the perfect platform for this tart, vodka-based treat that’s shaken and served in a sugar-rimmed martini glass.

1 Atlas Edibles Raspberry-hibiscus packet (5 mg CBD, 2.5 mg THC)

1.5 oz vodka

1 oz lemon juice

1 oz simple syrup

Granulated sugar (for rimming glass)

Hibiscus flower (or other edible flower, for garnish)

5. Ganga Julep

Here’s a deliciously refreshing twist on an American tradition: the Ganja Julep – perfect for a hot late-summer afternoon; and with relaxing CBD only (and no THC), it’s more relaxing than a day at the races. Just don’t tell any Kentucky Derby fans that we put weed and apple brandy in their precious Mint Julep.

2 oz Laird’s Bottled In Bond Straight Apple Brandy

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

Unflavored CBD drops from Select (1-5 ml, your preference, available on Eaze Wellness)

Fresh mint

Pick off 6 mint leaves from the stem and drop them in a julep tin (use the bottom of a cocktail shaker or any metal cup if you don’t have a julep tin). Add the simple syrup and CBD drops and gently muddle together the leaves, syrup, and drops. Fill halfway with crushed ice, pour in apple brandy and stir. Add ice until there is a cone of ice above the rim of the tin. Grab 4 sprigs of fresh mint and gently slap them to release their oils, then stick the bouquet of mint into the ice. Let rest for a few minutes, serve with a straw.
